Jim Ferris, author of "Facts of Life and The Hospital Poems," read recently at the UA during an event presented by the UA's Disability Studies Collaborative and the Poetry Center. Past president of the Society for Disability Studies, Ferris has received fellowship awards in poetry as well as creative nonfiction. His writing has appeared in numerous publications including Georgia Review, Text & Performance Quarterly and Disability Studies Quarterly.
