UAlert: Report of Man with Gun in Administration Building

A UAlert was issued on March 22 for the University of Arizona campus.

Updates:

9:09 p.m.: UAPD has cleared the Administration Building. No one was found; no injuries or signs of a shooting. The Student Union is OPEN. No campus restrictions. All clear.

7:53 p.m.: Police have a perimeter around the Administration Building. Please avoid the area immediately around Administration. The Student Union is temporarily closed.

7:28 p.m.: The campus is open EXCEPT for the Administration Building during this ongoing investigation.

7:14 p.m.: Investigation continues at the Administration Building. Avoid areas around the Administration Building, 2nd Street and Mountain due to police activity.

6:27 p.m.: A call came into UAPD through 911 at 4:52 p.m. There was a report of a man with a rifle inside of the Administration Building. UAPD and TPD jointly responded and secured the area. The Administration Building has been evacuated. Modern Languages also has been evacuated as a precaution. People are advised to stay away from that area, and we're using our UAlert and other communications systems to keep the community informed of the situation.

6:05 p.m.: UAPD and TPD are searching the Administration Building. Remain clear of the area around the Administration Building.

5:55 p.m.: Evacuate Modern Languages Building to the east exits. Leave now thru the east doors.

5:53 p.m.: Leave the Administration Building NOW through 2nd-floor lobby, out the north lobby doors. UAPD is in the building.

5:06 p.m.: Report of a man with a rifle in the Administration Building. UAPD is on the scene. Stay away from the area.
