Welcome to the Old Pueblo, Ann Weaver Hart.
The University of Arizona is holding a welcome event for Hart, the UA's new president, and her husband, Randy, on Aug. 28.
All are welcome to attend the event from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the North Ballroom of the Student Union Memorial Center. A brief program is planned for 4:30 p.m.
"This is the campus' opportunity to welcome the 21st president to the UA," said Jaime Gutierrez, vice president for external relations and associate vice president for community relations. "We're excited to have President Hart as our president, and under her leadership, we're looking forward to even greater University advancement and academic success."
Hart comes to the UA from Temple University, where she served as president. She also has served as president of the University of New Hampshire and as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Claremont Graduate University.
Hart received a Bachelor of Science in history, a Master of Arts in history and a doctorate in educational administration from the University of Utah.
Hart began her post at the UA on July 1.
