President Barack Obama is scheduled to speak at tonight's event to support and remember victims of the mass shooting in Tucson. The event starts at 6 p.m. in McKale Memorial Center, and overflow seating will occur in Arizona Stadium.
The number of people in line to attend tonight's "Together We Thrive: Tucson and America" event has exceeded the capacity of McKale Memorial Center.
The center holds about 14,000.
Community members who are not already in line or are on their way to join the line will be seated in Arizona Stadium, where overflow will be directed. Video of the event will be shown on the scoreboard's big screen.
Video also will be streamed live on the Arizona Public Media website for those unable to attend.
McKale will open as planned at 4 p.m., allowing those who were first in line to take their seats. The event begins at 6 p.m.
