Conference Examines Childhood, Family Relations in Middle Ages

<p> <br /><strong>What:</strong> Conference: "Childhood and Family Relations in the Middle Ages and the Early Modern Age"<br /><br /><strong>When:</strong> Conference Schedule: Friday, April 30 and Saturday, May 1 from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.;<br /><br /><strong>Where:</strong> Conference Room of Special Collections in the University of Arizona Library<br /><br /><strong>Cost:</strong> Students: $10/day; Non-students: $15/day<br /><br />Among the 11 presenters on Friday is Marc Moser from Universit&#233; de Nice, France who will discuss "The Deadly Conflict between Father and Son in the 'Song from Hildebrand,' with a Glimpse at Homer's Odysseus-Ulysses and Telemachus Relationship." <br /><br />Saturday's portion includes 13 presenters, including Tracy Adams from the University of Auckland, New Zealand who will discuss "The Mother/Queen: A Medieval Paradigm of Motherhood." <br /><br />Distinguished Professor of German studies Albrecht Classen says that the "the anthropological aspect of childhood and family in the past could be particularly appealing to a wider audience."<br /><br />Classen, who organized the conference, says it is aimed at an academic audience, but the public also is invited to attend. <br /></p>
