Brigetta Barrett: The Will to Rise
UA junior Brigetta Barrett, a three-time NCAA champion, is looking to win her fourth title and make Team USA for the 2012 Olympic Games.
Junior Brigetta Barrett has made a tremendous impact at the University of Arizona as a member of the track and field team and as a student-athlete who majors in theatre arts.
She is a three-time NCAA champion, 2011 U.S. champion, 2011 World University Games champion and a 2011 World Championships finalist. She also was a 2011 Academic All-America honoree.
Barrett, a high jumper, is looking to win her fourth title and make Team USA for the 2012 Olympic Games.
She will compete in the Olympic trials in Eugeue, Ore. on June 28. If she makes the U.S. Olympic track and field team, she will travel to London to compete in the 2012 Olympics in July.
Barrett currently holds the top collegiate mark in the country, 6-4.75, and is tied for the second-best mark in the world.
The UA put together a feature video on Barrett as part of the campus' recognition of outstanding student-athletes with Olympic aspirations.
