Brigetta Barrett Advances to High Jump Olympic Final

University of Arizona student-athlete Brigetta Barrett competed in the preliminary round of the women’s high jump on Aug. 9 at London’s Olympic Stadium.

Barrett earned a spot in the final of the high jump with a clearance of 6-4 (1.93m). She only recorded one miss on the day, taking two tries to clear 6-4.

She entered the competition at 5-8.75 (1.75m) and finished her competition after securing her spot in the final with a 6-4 clearance. For the 2012 outdoor season, Barrett has cleared 6-4 or better on eight different occasions.

Barrett will return to Olympic Stadium for the final on Aug. 11 at 11 a.m. MST.

Competition in London for athletes affiliated with Arizona will continue on Aug. 10: men's basketball (Andre Iguodala): semifinal, United States vs. Argentina, 1 p.m. MST.
