Wildcats Win NCAA Baseball Championship

Arizona won its fourth College World Series and NCAA baseball title on June 25 with a gutty 4-1 victory over two-time defending champion South Carolina at TD Ameritrade Park. Robert Refsnyder was named Most Outstanding Player. A recognition event will be held June 26 at McKale Memorial Center.

Arizona Brings Biggest Team to Olympic Swimming Trials

The UA swimming team and Tucson Ford Aquatics travel to the Olympic trials this week in Omaha, Neb. The teams, known as Ford and Zona at the trials, have qualified 56 athletes – more than any other team in the country – for the event. The trials run through July 2 and will be televised.

Grant to Fund Study of Sport's Benefit to Injured Veterans

The UA Disability Studies Collaborative has received funding to explore the impact of sports and wellness on veterans with spinal cord injuries. The grant will draw veterans from across the country to the UA's Adaptive Athletics program and help researchers assess how sport impacts their educational goals.

Wildcats Well Represented at T&F Olympic Trials

The UA men's and women's track and field program will have current student-athletes, alumni and volunteer assistant coaches competing at the U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore. The trials run June 21 through July 1 and will be televised.

Wildcats to Play for NCAA Baseball Title

Arizona thumped Florida State, 10-3, on June 21 to win its side of the bracket and earn a spot in the NCAA championship series at TD Ameritrade Park. The Wildcats will play next on June 24 against either Arkansas or South Carolina.

Eller in Europe

More than 40 UA students in an Eller College of Management program, along with four instructors, are bound for Europe to study sports management. The students will attend and learn about managing some of the world's most prominent athletic events, including the Tour de France, Wimbledon and the 2012 Summer Olympics.
