Wildcats Football Opens Fall Camp This Week

The Arizona football team will begin its fall camp this week, training in Tucson before spending several days at Fort Huachuca, a U.S. Army installation. The Wildcats will then return to campus for another week of practices before classes begin Aug. 20.

4-Time Olympian Abdi Abdirahman is 'Back' and Ready for London

After competing at 10,000 meters in the Olympic Games for the third time, many people counted UA alumnus Abdi Abdirahman out. Then, he qualified again in 2012. This means Somali-American Abdirahman has represented the United States in each of the Olympic Games since he became a U.S. citizen in 2000.

Brigetta Barrett Named Scholar Athlete of the Year

UA track and field members Brigetta Barrett and Edgar Rivera-Morales each earned additional academic honors for the 2012 season. Barrett was named the 2012 Indoor Field Scholar Athlete of the Year, the second-straight year she has received the award. Barrett and Rivera-Morales were both named USTFCCCA All-Academic honorees. Barrett will compete in the 2012 Olympics in the high jump.

Anderson Sisters Ready to Swim at Olympics

The UA's Alyssa Anderson and her sister, Haley, are the second USA sister duo in Olympic swimming history. Both will swim for Team USA during the London games. Alyssa Anderson is a 16-time All-American who has completed her senior season at Arizona.
