Brigetta Barrett Named Pac-12 Woman of the Year

UA Olympic silver medalist high jumper Brigetta Barrett has been named the Pac-12 Conference Woman of the Year for the 2012-13 academic year. Barrett now is the conference's candidate for the NCAA Woman of the Year, presented annually to graduating student-athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in the areas of academic achievement, athletics excellence, community service and leadership.

Basketball Standout Damon Stoudamire Returns to Arizona as Assistant Coach

Damon Stoudamire was the starting point guard on one of Arizona's Final Four teams, the only player in UA history to score 40 points or more on two separate occasions, and his total of 45 points in a game is No. 2 on the all-time list of points scored in a game at Arizona. Stoudamire is back at Arizona as the new men's basketball assistant coach.

Wildcats Have No. 2 Fan Base in Nation

Long a fixture of success on the court, a recent study by Emory University Sports Marketing Analytics found that the UA men's basketball fan base ranks No. 2 in the nation. Arizona posted a 27-8 record (12-6 Pac-12) in 2012-13 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament's West Regional semifinals for the second time in three seasons.

Arizona Wins Fourth Straight Territorial Cup Series

Arizona once again has captured the Territorial Cup Series title, edging Arizona State University, 9.5-8.5, across 18 men's and women's sports in the 2012-13 athletics season. Tedy Bruschi Named to CFB Hall of Fame

Former Arizona defensive lineman Tedy Bruschi is the fourth Arizona football player to be inducted in the NFF College Football Hall of Fame and the third in the last five years. Bruschi (1991-95) ended his UA career with 52 sacks, tied for the most in NCAA history. He was a consensus All-American in 1994 and a unanimous All-American in 1995.

The UA's Davellyn Whyte Selected in WNBA Draft

Senior Davellyn Whyte has made Arizona women's basketball history after being picked 16th overall by the San Antonio Stars in the WNBA draft this week. With the pick, Whyte became the highest drafted player in Arizona women's basketball history. Ify Ibekwe was picked 24th by the Seattle Storm in 2011, and Adia Barnes was selected 32nd by the Sacramento Monarchs in 1998.
