Alternative Transportation Programs Designed To Help Our Planet!

Alternative Transportation programs designed to help our planet!

Tired of rising gas prices? Would you like to save money on your commute? Parking & Transportation has three great programs that will help you save money, gasoline and help the environment.

Carpool: Open to employees and students who drive with two or more people per vehicle. You share the cost of the parking permit at existing premier locations. A three person carpool parked in a surface lot is only $139 per person per year. For more information go to: http://parking.arizona.edu/alternative/carpool.php.

Vanpool: This service is open to UA employees and students. PTS provides a Free parking permit. The cost of gas and the van averages $60 - $100 per month. Each van holds 5 to 15 riders and provides the perfect option for making your commute time more relaxing. For information go to: http://parking.arizona.edu/alternative/vanpoolintro.php.

RideShare: RideShare is a free carpool matching service for commuters and employers in Pima County. Participation is voluntary. The program provides interested applicants with a "matchlist" of other commuters who live and work near them and also want to carpool. Commuters set up their own carpools to fit their particular commuting needs. For information go to: http://parking.arizona.edu/alternative/rideshare.php.

Information on all three transportation programs may be found on the PTS web site at http://parking.arizona.edu/transportation.
