Faculty Women's Club President's Reception with Special Guest Adrian Shelton

The Faculty Women's Club invites you to join us as we welcome newcomers, regular members and special guest Adrian Shelton, wife of University of Arizona President Robert N. Shelton. Enjoy a living history performance presented by Judy Nolte Temple, UA professor of women's studies and English.

Temple will provide us with her performance as the early 20th-century author Mary Hunter Austin, author of "The Land of Little Rain" and "Land of Journey's Endings."  Questions from the audience for Mary Hunter Austin are encouraged so as to facilitate an interactive experience.

A little bit of history that you might find very interesting: This year marks the 80th year since the Faculty Women's Club was originally started in 1930 under UA president Homer LeRoy Shantz's wife. The FWC was initiated as a social club promoting friendship among the wives of faculty members. Today, the composition of FWC includes interest groups, provides scholarships, and hosts monthly program events.  Please join us as we begin the yearlong celebration of our 80th year!
