The overarching theme of the exhibit draws upon the artist’s explorations of materiality. “Substantive life is itself, under the best conditions, fugitive and fragile. Concurrently, the global environment is, as we know, under assault from carbon emissions, multitudinous pollutants, and human expansion, voracity and impassivity.”
Constantino assembles material and time-based media elements in the gallery – suggesting a liminal zone, reflecting the many aspects of her inquiry.
This exhibition runs from Aug. 13 to Oct. 8 in the Joseph Gross Gallery, which is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
A reception will be held Sept. 4 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
