SUMMARY:Developing and Assessing Intercultural Competence
DESCRIPTION:Participants will examine how to develop and assess intercultural competence     within four disciplines (foreign languages\, social studies\, language arts\, and     fine arts) with a focus on two regional areas\: Latin America and the Middle     East. The schedule culminates in discipline-based workshops in which     participants can begin to create curriculum units and lesson plans using the     materials presented in the keynote and plenary talks.
