SUMMARY:Goya's Mastery in Prints\: \"Los Caprichos\" and \"Correspondence\: In Relation to Goya\"
DESCRIPTION:UAMA concludes the presentation of \"Goya's Mastery in Prints\,\" a four-part series of revolutionary print suites by Francisco de Goya on loan from the Meadows Museum at Southern Methodist University in Dallas\, Texas. The fourth and final exhibition in the series\, \"Los Caprichos\" (The Caprices)\, showcases the artist's most influential suite - 80 aquatint etchings that satirize the folly of individual human behavior and critique elements of 18th century Spanish society with striking originality in design and in concept.Corresponding to Goya's \"Los Caprichos\,\" the museum presents Maria Brito's \"Las Goyescas\" and Enrique Chagoya's \"The Return to Goyas Caprichos.\" This fourth and final installation in the UAMA series \"Correspondence\: In Relation to Goya\" showcases the work of two living artists in dialogue with Francisco Goya’s most famous print suite\, \"Los Caprichos\" (1799).
