UA Journalism Grad Joins NBC News
Savannah Guthrie previously worked for Court TV.
Savannah Guthrie, a 1993 graduate of The University of Arizona journalism department, has been named a news correspondent for NBC News. Guthrie will be based in Washington, D.C., and cover stories for "NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, the "Today" show and other NBC programs.
Guthrie was the Washington legal affairs correspondent for Court TV, covering trials ranging from terrorist suspect Zacarias Moussaoui to the sentencing of lifestyle maven Martha Stewart.
A graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center, Guthrie worked in private practice before joining Court TV. She covered the Sept. 11 attack on the Pentagon with NBC affiliate WRC in Washington, and also worked at KMIZ in Columbia, Mo., and KVOA in Tucson.
