The Center for Creative Photography presents "Ralph Gibson and Lustrum Press, 1970-1985." A key figure in modern photography, Gibson is known for a distinctive personal aesthetic based on stark contrasts, graphic precision and suggestive mystery. He founded the pioneering Lustrum Press in New York in 1970, making an immediate impact on the photography scene with striking and often provocative publications featuring his own work and that of other artists, including Wynn Bullock, Manual Alvarez-Bravo, Harry Callahan, Paul Caponigro, Larry Clark, Robert Frank, Robert Mapplethorpe, Mary Ellen Mark, Jerry Uelsmann, Brett Weston and others.
