UApresents - Olympia Dukakis as Rose

In this concert reading, Olympia Dukakis reprises her Broadway and international triumph, "Rose," a one-woman epic of a Jewish octogenarian looking back on the events of her life. From her birth in the Ukraine, to her escape from the Nazis, her immigration to America, to her travels to Israel, Dukakis reveals the poignant story of a survivor. Inspired by his own maternal grandmother, playwright Martin Sherman creates a challenging tapestry of the meaning of Jewish identity in the contemporary world.
