Dean of Students Office Accepting Nominations for Outstanding Senior Awards
Do you know a senior who has demonstrated above-average scholastic ability, citizenship, leadership and promise for the future?
The Dean of Students Office is accepting nominations for students who have received a baccalaureate degree since May 2006, including students who will graduate this May, for one of three awards recognizing outstanding seniors.
One man and one woman will be selected to receive each of the following:
Freeman Medal - Funded by the will of Merrill P. Freeman, who served the UA as a regent and as a chancellor.
Nugent Award - Established by the Alumni Association in 1964 and named in memory of Robert Logan Nugent, executive vice president of the UA for more than 30 years. Nugent was particularly devoted to guiding and helping Arizona's young men and women.
Robie Medal - Funded by the late Wendel T. Robie of the UA class of 1917 and his wife, Inez Benzie Robie, class of 1916.
The awards are not based solely on grade point average, but honor well-rounded individuals whose contributions through co-curricular and community activities and leadership are evident.
The nomination form is at the Dean of Students Wen site, and must be submitted to Claudia Dávila in the Dean of Students Office, Old Main Room 203, by noon on Jan. 26.
