Surgical Weight-Loss Seminar

This bimonthly informational seminar is for prospective patients and the general public.

Carlos Galvani, associate professor of surgery and director of minimally invasive, bariatric and robotic surgery at The University of Arizona Medical Center, will discuss the latest medical advancements in surgical weight loss, with topics such as:

  • Obesity, including the medical definition of obesity, causes, impact on general health and potential health complications.
  • Medical, or non-surgical, treatment for obesity and morbid obesity.
  • Surgical treatment for morbid obesity, including types of procedures, complications and short-term and long-term outcomes.
