Winter 2012 Commencement
Graduation day. Congratulations, everybody!
All members of the University community are expressly invited by the UA president and provost to attend Commencement on Saturday morning. This includes all faculty members, students, their extended family and friends.
Graduates are handed flutterfetti as they enter McKale Memorial Center, and they throw the confetti when their college is recognized or when the president confers their degrees. Students have been bringing food donations the past few ceremonies as a way to give back to the community.
The commencement ceremony lasts less than an hour and a half. The speeches are brief and there are a few special music interludes.
