Chair Yoga

Canyon Ranch fitness specialist Laurie Huntzinger will guide participants in seated exercises and standing poses using a chair for support. Free event, open to the public; final presentation of the Living Healthy with Arthritis Spring 2012 Active Series presented by the University of Arizona Arthritis Center.

People of all ages – with arthritis as well as many other health issues – can learn "Chair Yoga," a gentle form of yoga practiced while seated in a chair or standing using a chair for support. Huntzinger, a nationally-certified yoga specialist, will guide participants through the relaxing, effective and educational practice. Participants will experience the value of various yoga poses while using a chair for seated exercise and for balance in optional standing poses. Huntzinger will teach alignment and form in the basic yoga postures along with emphasis and instruction on appropriate breathing techniques.

Dress comfortably; water and chairs will be provided.
