The University of Arizona

Starlight Science Cinema Presents: 'October Sky'

Join us for a free showing of the inspriational 1999 film based on the true story of a young student (Jake Gyllenhaal) who is inspired by the launch of Sputnik to become a rocket scientist. The showing will be preceded by a presentation by Peter Smith, principal investigator of the Mars Phoenix Mission. Bring flashlights, blankets, chairs and snacks for trivia and fun for the whole family. The event will be at UA's Highland Commons (near Highland Avenue and East Sixth Street).

If there is rain, we will move the location to UA's Kuiper Building (near Cherry Avenue and University Avenue).

This event is being held by the College of Science and the UA Lunar and Planetary Laboratory.
