An Evening of Opera Scenes

The University of Arizona Opera Theater presents its production of "An Evening of Opera Scenes." The program of opera scenes will span the breadth of musical styles including the early opera seria in Scarlatti's “Griselda,” Mozart's “Mitridate Re di Ponto” and his later opera buffa “Le Nozze di Figaro,” Bizet's “Carmen,” Puccini's tragedy “Il Tabarro,” Gilbert and Sullivan's “Gondoliers” and a tip of the hat to American musical theater with a selection from Sondheim's “Follies.”

The scenes will be performed fully staged with sets, lighting, costumes and supertitles. Performers include distinguished undergraduate and graduate students of the UA voice area. The cast includes Katrin Cunningham, Diana Olivares, Stephanie Brink, Bryce Rodriguez, Jenina Galloway, Sun-Young Lee, Kimberly Prins-Moeller, Laura Broscow, Rebekah Sharpton, Alexandra Morris, Kendi Van De Graaf, Brenna Ward, Marty Constantine, Edgar Ricaud, Stephan Warner, Levi Pratt, Kelsey Rogers, Iris Anna Gohn, Ivette Ortiz, Emily Spirk, Alejandro Bañuelos, Olman Alfaro, Jenny Brobeck, Brandon Dale and Allie Outcalt.
