UA Alumnus, Food Security Expert to Speak on Campus
Al-Rasheed will present his talk on food security and sustainable agriculture Thursday, 5-6:30 p.m., in Room 230 of the Marley Building, which is located at 1145 E. 4 St. The event is free and open to all.
During the talk, Al-Rasheed will share his experience and expertise about the role agriculture and water play in enhancing security and promoting economic growth.
Having graduated from the UA's agricultural engineering program in 1981, Al-Rasheed went on to work with Golden Grass, Inc., which has persistently ranked among the top 100 companies in Saudi Arabia exporting agriculture products. He also earned his doctorate in business administration in 2011 from the Liverpool John Moores University.
Frequently, Al-Rasheed is called upon to speak about national security, sustainable agriculture, food security, sustainable development, political economy and self-improvement.
Also, Al-Rasheed, who lives in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, serves as a UA adjunct professor in the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering.
