UA Classical Guitar Program Among World’s Best The UA's classical guitar program is believed by many to be the top program of its kind in the country - and among the best in the world. Many students have found music, a home and a future in the UA's Bolton Guitar Program headed by professor R. Thomas Patterson.

UApresents 2013-14 Season Announced UApresents has released its 2013-14 season lineup, and Broadway in Tucson has announced that it will move its season performances to Centennial Hall. Between the two professional organizations, audiences will enjoy presentations by the likes of Cesar Millan, Renee Fleming, the Boston Pops, Bobby McFerrin, Jungle Jack Hanna and the cast of the two-time Tony Award-winning "American Idiot."

UA Students Study Ancient Greek Pottery Techniques UA students are using a replica of an ancient Greek hand-operated potter's wheel to study how Greek pots were created many years ago. The interdisciplinary project, directed by Eleni Hasaki, UA associate professor of anthropology and classics, explores both the art and science behind ancient Greek pottery making.
In a national call for increased awareness around the arts and art education, the National Art Education Association affirmed that both encompass and promote three pivotal domains: self-expression and communication, language, and socially and culturally embedded values. A Contemporary School for the Transforming Arts Engaged in applied, interdisciplinary work, UA School of Art students, faculty and staff are deeply embedded in communities beyond the University's boundaries. Collaborative outreach is an important endeavor at the School of Art. This is the fifth feature in a six-part series exploring the history of the UA School of Art and the UA Museum of Art, and their positive impacts on society.

From Tucson to Tokyo, UAMA's Reach The UA Museum of Art's collection includes works by world-famous artists. The UAMA's holdings are so in demand that museums around the world borrow its artwork, including museums in Tokyo, Spain, France, San Francisco and Los Angeles. In fiscal year 2011 alone, the UAMA saw a 74 percent increase in the number of museum tours along with a 53 percent increase in the number of people in attendance. This is the third feature in a series about the UAMA and the UA School of Art.
